Time flies when you're having fun! And since we've been knitting and crocheting, time has really flown (just one more row, amirite?)! Our first order was placed three years ago and since then we've met many fiber friends like you from California to New York and everywhere in between. (Heck, we've made friends as far away as Australia, France, and Japan!) And we've been busy! In the last couple years, we introduced our first yarn, Pearl's Choice, that quickly became our #1 selling yarn. It...
We know that some seasoned knitters are so fast they almost seem like knitting machines (we're looking at you, Hazel Tyndall). Today though, I want to discuss a different type of knitting machine which is, erm, actual knitting machines! Okay, you may be thinking, "Machine knitting--that's cheating!" That's not an uncommon response when handknitters are presented with machine knitting as an alternate fiber art. But stick with me because there are a number of misconceptions that lead knitters t...
As you may have herd, the Creative Ewe studio will be closed July 1-10 for inventory and refurbishment projects. And when we re-open, we'll have new hours effective July 11th. Our new hours are: Tuesday through Friday: 12 pm – 7 pmSaturday & Sunday: 12 pm – 5 pmMonday: Closed
On June 1, many our fiber friends got together at the Creative Ewe studio to craft for a cause! Partnering with the Santa Clarita Valley Knitted Knockers group, knitters (and crocheters) got out their needles, hooks, and yarn to make Knitted Knockers. During our craft-along, customers generously donated their time to make their first Knockers. Some speedy knitters have already submitted their finished prosthetics and started their next!
Golly sheepers--our new Membersheep Rewards Club has arrived! And we are excited to tell you all about it! So what is it? The Membersheep Rewards Club is Creative Ewe's loyalty program that allows you to earn Membersheep Points for all of your purchases, interacting with us on social media, and other activities. You can then redeem Membersheep Points for special rewards and experiences such as reward vouchers, registration for events or classes, finishing services, and much more.
“This isn’t the cure for cholera.” That’s what I often joke to friends, students and customers when they are frustrated learning a new technique or stymied by the project that they’re working on at the moment. Maybe their crocheted blanket looks more like a granny trapezoid than a granny square. Maybe the magic loop method is seeming more mystifying than magical. In any case, I often remind, “This isn’t the cure for cholera.”
I already introduced you to many of my favorite fiber tools and fibers during the My Favorite Wooly Things event. (If you missed My Favorite Wooly Things—read through my past blog postings for a recap.) Now I’d like to introduce you to some of my favorite wooly people!
