Yes, the rumors are true. Creative U Studios is open again! But with a couple little changes…

Before I get too far, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Christian and I’m the new owner of the studio. That’s me to the left with my knitting tool box at Vogue Knitting Live and holding some yarn you might find in the store in the future
A friend taught me to knit in college and my first project was…hmmmm. Well, I can tell you it was supposed to be a basic stockinette scarf but it turned out more like a trapezoid scarf in stockinette, garter, and ribbing with a little unintended openwork thrown in for good measure.
I like to think that I’ve progressed as a knitter since then and I have also introduced crochet and spinning into my fiber arts repertoire. Amigurumi and knit toys are some of my favorite things to knit now. Here’s a picture my finished Itty-Bitty Giraffe (pattern by Susan B. Anderson).
Now on to business. As you might’ve already noticed, our name has changed to Creative Ewe. If you’re like me, you love all sheep-y things (and alpaca-y and llama-y and mohair-y—I could keep going on…) and our new name reflects our passion for the fiber arts.
We also have a brand new logo to go with our name that captures the playful spirit and sense of community we share here at the store. When I think of Creative Ewe, I think of all the amazing people who come here to knit and crochet with friends. Well, they don’t come here just to knit and crochet but also to help out other crafters, learn new techniques, take a deep breath after a long day, and usually laugh a little bit (or in some cases, a lotta bit).
When people would ask me why I drove 30+ miles to go to a yarn store, I would plainly tell them that Creative U Studios was my most favorite yarn store in LA. At Creative U Studios, Amanda created a wonderful store for us to learn, play with lots and lots of beautiful yarn, and meet new friends. Them’s some big shoes to fill. But, I am determined to keep Creative Ewe as my favorite yarn store and I hope your favorite local yarn store too!
Binding off for now,
Christian
