Knitter's Hook-Up Crochet Club
Crochet is a very dark art. Bear with me as I explain…
Crochet allows you to magically work up beautiful blankets, baskets, and more in no time at all. However, if you learned knitting first, crochet can flummox any beginner who is armed with nothing but a hook, string, and some gumption.
With so many holes and loops in a chain, where do you insert the hook? How do you identify a stitch? Does the loop on the hook count as a stitch? It can all be a little maddening at first.
If you feel this way too—all is not lost! Join us for our Knitter’s Hook-up Club and get hooked on crochet!
This club was designed to demystify the art of crochet for knitters with little to no experience with hooking. Over the six (6) months of the club, you’ll first learn basic crochet stitches including the chain stitch, single crochet, half double crochet and more. Once you’ve mastered these basic stitches, we’ll cover how to read crochet stitches and decipher crochet patterns.
Later workshops will include new techniques such as making foundation chains, adding crochet edges to your knit pieces, changing colors seamlessly for perfect stripes, unique crochet textures, and much more.
Along the way, you’ll also learn gobs of helpful tips and tricks that will make crocheting easier, faster, and neater.
Every club member receives a members-only personalized crochet hook and a free pattern to put what you’ve just learned into practice. Members also receive a 10% off discount at each club meeting as a bonus perk.
Class meets either the third Thursday or Saturday of the month (depending on your selection) for six (6) months.
